💊 Thrombosis
Thrombosis is the formation of a blood clot (thrombus) within a blood vessel, which can obstruct the flow of blood through the circulatory system. Don’t forget you have two types of vessels: Arteries carry oxygenated blood to the tissue in a high pressure system, and veins return deoxygenated blood to the heart in a low pressure system. Thrombosis can occur in both. When a clot blocks a vein, it can cause conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT), commonly seen in the legs. Arterial thrombosis, on the other hand, can lead to more severe outcomes like heart attacks and strokes due to blocked arteries supplying blood to the heart, brain or other important organs...
