Until very recently the scientific community believed that the brain did not change after childhood. We believed the brain was hard-wired and completely fixed by the time we became adults.
Now we know the human brain is not even done developing until age 26, and not only that, but that it continues to change through our lifetime.
Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to reorganize and form new neural connections throughout life. This process allows the brain to adapt to new experiences, learning, and even recover from injury. It means that your brain is constantly changing in response to what you do, think, and feel.
